Can I bring someone with me to my tattoo appointment?

Of course! Sometimes we need a bit of moral support. I just kindly ask that you only bring one person along with you to your appointment. Strictly no under 18's allowed in the studio.

Will I see my design before my appointment?

Accepted Answer

Due to my workload, designs will be sent to you a few days before your appointment - sometimes the night before during busier periods.

Once you’ve seen your design, you’re welcome to request any tweaks or changes to ensure you’re completely happy before we begin.

Please note, I do not create or send out designs without a confirmed booking. This policy is in place to respect the time and effort involved in preparing each custom piece.

What should I do to prepare for my tattoo appointment?

Here are some essential steps to follow:

1. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin receives ink better and heals faster.

2. Get Rest: Ensure you get a good night's sleep before your appointment. Well-rested individuals often handle the tattooing process and any discomfort better.

3. Avoid Alcohol, Caffeine & blood thinners: 24 hours before your session, steer clear of alcohol, caffeine and blood thinners as they can thin your blood, making the tattooing process more challenging and your skin more prone to bleeding.

4. Eat Well: Have a substantial meal before you arrive. This will help maintain your energy levels throughout the session and keep your blood sugars up. If you are prone to fainting or dizziness, this is a key step!

5. Dress Comfortably: Wear loose, comfortable clothing that can easily expose the area to be tattooed. Consider wearing older garments that you don’t mind potentially getting ink on.

6. Moisturize Your Skin: In the week before your appointment, keep the area to be tattooed well-moisturized. However, don’t apply lotions or oils on the day of your appointment.

7. Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep the area to be tattooed out of the sun to prevent sunburn, which can make tattooing more painful and complicated.

How much does a tattoo cost?

Accepted Answer

The cost of your tattoo will vary depending on the size, placement and design. The best way to get an accurate price estimate for a tattoo is to fill out the booking form and I will then be able to advise you on the price.

Can I use numbing cream?

Accepted Answer

I do advise against numbing creams as they can interfere with the tattooing process and affect quality. They change the skin's texture, making it harder for artists to work accurately especially with fine needles. Instead, ensure you're well-rested, hydrated, and have eaten a nutritious meal before your session.

Question 6

How long does a tattoo take to heal?

Accepted Answer

Tattoos typically heal on the surface within 1–2 weeks, while the deeper layers can take 3–4 weeks to fully recover. During this time, avoid swimming or bathing (no soaking) for at least 2 weeks, and keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight and sunbeds.

I will provide you with full aftercare information on the day of your appointment.

How old do I need to be to get a tattoo?

Accepted Answer

By law you must be over 18 to get a tattoo in the UK. You must be able to produce a valid form of photo ID.

Question 8

Do you offer coverups?

Accepted Answer

I specialize in fine line tattoos, which are intricate and delicate, so I don't offer cover-up services. Fine lines do not effectively cover existing tattoos. If you'd like new art or fine line designs, I can do this for you however for cover-ups, please consult an artist that specialises in that area.

Do you offer colour tattoo's?

I specialise in black and grey work and don’t offer full colour tattoos.
I do, however, offer red linework for a subtle alternative within my style.
